Dr. Alan Stern is a planetary scientist and principal investigator of NASA’s New Horizons mission, which made history by capturing the first close-up images of Pluto. He has contributed to more than two dozen space missions and served as NASA’s Associate Administrator for Science. Stern’s leadership helped expand our knowledge of the outer solar system and he continues to advocate for planetary exploration and citizen science.
