Nonny de la Peña is a journalist, documentarian and pioneer of virtual reality storytelling who serves as the program director of Arizona State University’s Narrative and Emerging Media program. Known as the “godmother of Virtual Reality,” she uses immersive media to give audiences visceral experiences of news and social issues. Her work includes Hunger in Los Angeles and other projects that put users inside real-life crises. De la Peña is the founder of Emblematic Group and a leading voice on how technology can foster empathy and awareness.
