Vint Cerf is considered one of the “fathers of the Internet” for co-designing the TCP/IP protocols that form the foundation of internet communication. He played a central role in developing ARPANET, the forerunner to the modern Internet, and has served as Chief Internet Evangelist at Google. Cerf has received the Presidential Medal of Freedom, the Turing Award and the National Medal of Technology. Throughout his career, he has advocated for accessible, inclusive and secure internet architecture and continues to explore the Internet’s future, including its potential in space.
