Overview

This short video, hosted by Clint Smith (Ph.D, Education, Harvard University), profiles the life story of Ida B. Wells-Barnett. Born into slavery during the Civil War, she became the educator-turned journalist, suffragette and tireless activist who helped to establish the National Association of Colored Women (NACW) and the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP).
