The Future of Nanotechnology

Senior Research Fellow /
RAND Europe

Eric Drexler is often called the father of nanotechnology for his pioneering theoretical work in molecular engineering. He authored “”Engines of Creation,”” which introduced the concept of atomically precise manufacturing to a broad audience. Drexler earned the first Ph.D. in molecular nanotechnology from MIT and has been a thought leader in forecasting how nanotech could revolutionize medicine, computing and materials science. He continues to advocate for ethical and strategic development of emerging technologies through research and consulting.

Overview

Nanotechnology pioneer Eric Drexler and NanoMech CEO Jim Phillips explore atomically precise manufacturing and its vast potential: from revolutionizing medicine and clean energy to raising new ethical questions. What happens when we can build things one atom at a time? The possibilities—and risks—are enormous.
